Freshwater Pearls
Freshwater Pearls come from Oysters that mature in freshwater. They grow primarily in the rivers and lakes of Japan and China. As an organic gemstone and a natural material, pearls are susceptible to damage if not cared for properly. See our care guide!
Gold Filled
Gold filled is a more premium option than gold plating. All of our chains, clasps and extenders are gold filled. This is a process of mechanically bonding a solid layer of gold to a base metal and will ensure the finish lasts years on end.
Gold Plated Sterling Silver
Gold plating refers to a process of electroplating a thick layer of gold to the surface of a piece of metal. At Mother & Metal, we plate 18ct gold onto silver.
